Meet the Speakers:
RABBI SAJ FREIBERG was born and bred on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He began a professional acting career when he was 16 years old, and was cast in several national television commercials including Levis, Nintendo, and Mead School Supplies. A graduate of Oberlin College with a BA in English Literature, after college he moved to Jerusalem, eventually receiving Rabbinical ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. After marrying the amazing Hadassah Freiberg (BA in Studio Art from Indiana University) he the completed the Ner Lelef Jewish Outreach Training Program in order to pursue a career in Jewish education. In 2004 he founded a fulltime outreach program for Jewish college students at Florida International University, which has been thriving ever since. Specializing in immersive Jewish experiences, Rabbi Freiberg has designed and lead dozens of educational seminars and trips to places like Israel, Poland, Germany, London,and Spain. Rabbi Freiberg’s talent for leadership and innovation was recognized last year when he was chosen from over 130 outreach professionals to join the eight members of the Olami Community Leadership Board.
A Connecticut native, RABBI YOSEF ROSEN graduated from Cornell University and worked for the Department of Justice before completing rabbinical school at Yeshiva University. There, he also received a master’s degree in medieval Jewish history. Rabbi Rosen sits on Columbia University’s ethical review board which supervises its animal research. He currently resides in Queens with his family where he plays tennis and crafts his own wine. Rabbi Rosen is passionate about Hassidic texts and the integration of spirituality into even the most mundane aspects of daily life.
RABBI ADAM JACOBS was born and raised in New York and has lived in Boston and Jerusalem, where he received his rabbinic ordination. He completed his B.A. in Music from Brandeis University and has a Masters of Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory. His writing has appeared in the Huffington Post, the Times of Israel, the Algemeiner Journal and in his own blog – Shaken Faithless. He has self-published three small books and was one of the teachers featured in the documentary film Kabbalah Me. His life’s work is to introduce the beauty, meaning and Joy of Judaism to all who are interested. He lives in New Jersey with his wife Penina and 5 children.
